For Women By Women: Meet Sarah from our Retail Team

This month, we're highlighting Sarah from our retail team. As a behind-the-scenes powerhouse, Sarah ensures that our stores are connected, supported, and thriving. With 14 years of experience shaping Sussan's style story, she understands what it takes to make women feel confident every day.

Tell us about your role at Sussan—how does it contribute to Sussan's story, and what does an average workday look like for you?

I work in our head office as part of the retail team, as the Retail Operations Coordinator. No two days are ever the same, which is one of the things I love about my role. As the connection from head office to stores, I send store communications and compile updates. I also support the retail team with admin and all things from booking their travel to organising conferences and events. I love being the behind-the-scenes support that keeps things running smoothly.

What's something about your role that would surprise people?

I'm the central contact for all store communications, so my inbox is always buzzing. I've proudly been part of the Sussan team for around 14 years. Safe to say, it's in my blood now.

I hope women feel confident, stylish, and ready to take on whatever the day throws at them, whether it's a dog walk, a day at the office or a sunny backyard BBQ. It's all about making women feel amazing in our fashion, every day.

What do you hope women feel when they step into a Sussan store or shop with us online?

What does 'For Women. By Women.' mean to you in the context of your work?

It means every decision we make is guided by women who get women, because we are those women. We know what works and what empowers our team members and customers. It's retail with heart and real-life insight.

What is the best piece of advice you have received from another woman?

Has to be my Mum, she is my number one supporter and has always said, "You can do anything you put your mind to."

How has working at Sussan shaped your style or approach to getting dressed?

I started working in our stores, so I have always had a love for fashion. My style is smart casual. When I'm not in Sussan, I'm in my active wear, ready for Pilates class.

What's a small ritual or reset that helps you unwind at the end of the day?

On my drive home, I love to catch up with my family or friends on the phone. We chat through our days, and it always makes the time go so much faster.

This month, our Style Stories campaign is all about dressing for the woman you want to be, not the world around you. In three words, how would you describe your style? And what pieces are helping you tell that story this season?

Classic. Understated. Effortless. Right now, I'm living in statement denim and blazers or a jacket. I love having staple pieces that I can mix and match, as it makes getting ready each morning a breeze.

How has your style story changed and evolved?

My style has definitely grown up with me, and over the years, I have found what works and what doesn't. Not just following the latest trends but working in pieces I know and love with the new to stay true to my style.

If you could tell the woman wearing Sussan one thing—about your work or why you do it—what would it be?

I genuinely love supporting, encouraging and empowering our store teams to be their best. Because when they thrive, our customers feel it too.
