Meet Taylah, our Chermside Store Manager, who spends December at the heart of the in-store buzz — juggling new arrivals, festive styling and creating meaningful moments for customers amid the joyful chaos of the season. Here, she shares why a warm welcome, a great outfit and genuinely loving what you do make all the difference.
Tell us about your role at Sussan—what does an average workday look like for you?
As a store manager, every day can look a little different, from the excitement of unpacking new stock and merchandising the store, to managing the store team, connecting with our lovely customers and having fun styling outfits in the fitting rooms. The in-store experience is one of the things that people remember most about a brand, so it's great to know that every happy customer contributes to Sussan's wider story.
What's something about your role that would surprise people?
How much we run around every day! Working in-store is surprisingly good for your step count!
What do you hope women feel when they step into a Sussan store or shop with us online?
I hope that women feel welcomed and represented by our brand, through our store culture and teams, our campaigns and our designs.
What does 'For Women. By Women.' mean to you in the context of your work?
Being part of a company that is invested in women's perspectives and experiences from the top down has always been one of the most exciting aspects of working at Sussan.

What is the best piece of advice you have received from another woman?
Dolly Parton once said, "If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain". This has always stuck with me when I need a little extra motivation!
How has working at Sussan shaped your style or approach to getting dressed?
Getting dressed is always easier when you have a good foundation to work with. Sussan's Everyday Icons range has made it easy for me to stock up on separates such as the Linen Tailored Pants and the Linen Everyday Shirt. Then I can mix and match new fashion pieces with the core pieces I know I already love.
This month, our campaign, Our Time, is all about celebrating the moments that matter. How are you most looking forward to spending your time this festive season and summer?
Family time always feels extra special at this time of year.
When it's time to celebrate, what pieces are you drawn to this season?
I love the silhouette of our Santorini dress, and this month's embroidered version in sky blue is perfect for feeling comfortable but still elevated at a festive occasion. Adding the Embellished Rattan Clutch gives it that little bit extra sparkle!
Between all the plans and celebrations this time of year, how do you carve out time for yourself to rest and recharge?
Just by taking whatever small moment I can, even taking five minutes to sit down with a cup of tea, can give me the boost of energy I need.
What's your favourite thing about working in-store this time of year?
With all of the celebrations at this time of year, it's always exciting to be able to help people shop for an outfit that makes them feel extra special for their festive occasion.
If you could tell the woman wearing Sussan one thing—about your work or why you do it—what would it be?
It's a joy to spend every day meeting and creating relationships with a diverse group of women across our store teams and customer base. We can all relate to each other through so many things, but most importantly, a love for Sussan!
