For over 85 years, Sussan has been celebrating the spirit of Australian women. Our 'For Women. By Women.' series highlights the remarkable women behind the brand, whose creativity and expertise shape everything we do.

This month, we caught up with Tegan, our Lead Graphic Designer in Marketing. In helping to shape and design the creative visuals that appear in our stores and across our digital channels, Tegan plays a key role in helping us tell our story and bring our collections to life.

Tell us about your role at Sussan. What does an average workday look like for you?

As Lead Graphic Designer in Marketing, I help bring the brand to life across our print and digital channels, from our website to emails and social media moments. I work closely with the marketing and digital teams to deliver high-quality, on-brand creative design that supports each campaign and helps women connect with our product.
My days are a mix of hands-on design and creative leadership. I manage workflows, brief and coordinate designers and keep projects on track.

What's something about your role that would surprise people?

Something that might surprise people is how much of my role is about problem-solving and organisation, not just design. Alongside the creative work, I'm managing timelines, streamlining processes and coordinating teams to keep a high volume of projects moving smoothly.

"For Women. By Women. means creating work that truly reflects and supports real women and real lives."

What do you hope women feel when they step into a Sussan store or shop with us online?

Whether they're in-store or shopping online, I want the Sussan experience to feel warm and effortless, like the brand truly understands their lifestyle and needs and helps them feel comfortable, stylish, and themselves.

What does 'For Women. By Women.' mean to you in the context of your work?

To me, For Women. By Women. means creating work that truly reflects and supports real women and real lives. As a working mum of two, I understand the juggle of balancing home life with a career, and that perspective influences how I approach my work. It's about making sure what we create feels practical, inclusive and genuinely supportive of women at every stage of life.

What is the best piece of advice you have received from another woman?

I am grateful to have worked with so many amazing women over the years, who have taught me that we can have it all, but not at once, and that life occurs in seasons. This has really helped me adjust my perspective and expectations during difficult times.

How has working at Sussan shaped your style or approach to getting dressed?

By focusing on versatility and ease without sacrificing style. I'm drawn to pieces I can style for any occasion and that make me feel confident.

This month, our campaign is Endless Summer. What does an 'Endless Summer' look like for you, and what do you love most about this time of year?

For me, an Endless Summer looks like swimming in the ocean, splashing around rockpools with my kids, and then eating dinner outside. I love making the most of the warm weather and creating memories we will reflect on in years to come.

How do you use the January break to reset before the year properly begins?

I like to sort through and donate any clothes and toys my kids have outgrown. For Christmas, I get them fresh clothes and socks as they are growing so quickly. It's a good time to reset all our wardrobes before the year properly begins. For clothing donations, I always order a box from our partner Upparel, since it means I don't have to sort what can be worn again from what needs to be recycled. It makes cleaning our wardrobes an easier and quicker process.
