I began Calmer Sutra Tea back in 2002 when chai was a rarity on a café menu. As a non-coffee drinker and a chai addict, I saw an opportunity to bring my favourite home brew to Melbourne's café scene. We now offer a wide range of organic teas, tisanes and specialty brews but our original fresh chai remains our signature product.

A collaboration with a like-minded, female entrepreneur is a treat!
When I first met Meredith her personality, warmth and artistic talent instantly resonated with me. I guess it was one of those gut instinct moments where I knew straight away that I wanted to work with her on something. So when the opportunity presented itself, it was a no brainer. To combine my knowledge of tea and herb blending with her whimsical, quaint illustrations was very appealing.

Tell us why you wanted to be involved with this particular collaboration with BCNA?
The icing on the cake. To be able to offer my time and wares in support of such a worthy and incredibly important organisation is an honour. A small contribution, but none the less one which fills me with pride. I hope women across Australia enjoy a cuppa and a quiet moment to themselves with our beautiful Women’s Wellbeing Tea.

Tell us about your business and what you produce?
We are a small business located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland. Since 2004, we have been producing soaps and bath bombs to engage all your senses. They look beautiful, smell amazing and feel wonderful on your skin. We use pure essential oils for fragrance, French and Australian clays, oxides and minerals for colour. We swirl them, sculpt them and decorate them with botanicals.

What is your process and how do you choose your materials?
We have a very ‘slow movement’ process that is very ‘hands on’. We choose high quality, skin loving oils and butters, carefully chosen to synergistically provide a gentle but deep cleansing experience. We are proudly ‘palm oil free’. We are very cognisant of the devastating effects that the rampant use of palm oil has caused on the native habitats of the orangutan, particularly in Indonesia.

At the Soap Bar, we believe life is too short for bad soap! Many customers say our soaps are too good to use, but we think they are too good NOT to use!
